This week, students at Bauer Primary are partaking in camping week by visiting Camp Read-A-Lot in the library. During their visit they get to participate in different activities and choose a free book to take home. Thanks Mrs. Tinney for an awesome week!

Miamisburg City School District announces the upcoming retirement of Jane Chance Intermediate School Principal Dale Geyer, who will step down at the end of the 2024–25 school year after a distinguished 32-year career in education.
Dale Geyer has served Miamisburg City Schools with dedication and integrity, consistently supporting students, staff, and families throughout his tenure. As principal of Jane Chance Intermediate School, he has been recognized for his student-centered approach, collaborative leadership style, and unwavering commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive school environment. Geyer has earned the respect and admiration of the entire Miamisburg community.
“We are so grateful for Mr. Geyer’s years of service to Miamisburg City Schools,” said Dr. Laura Blessing. “His selfless leadership, steady presence, and unwavering focus on doing what’s best for students have left a lasting impact. He has helped create a strong foundation for Jane Chance Intermediate School and will be deeply missed by all who have worked alongside him.”
Before joining Miamisburg City Schools, Mr. Geyer held leadership and instructional roles in other districts, bringing a wide range of experience to his work at Jane Chance. He began his career at Dayton Public Schools as a TItle I Reading Teacher, writing the school’s Federal Grants. In 1996, he accepted a position at Wantz Middle School, teaching English Language Arts and Science to seventh graders under Dr. Gary Schomburg. During this time, he started the middle school’s first Science Olympiad team, was recognized as one of Miamisburg’s “Best Practice” teachers in 1998, presented at the Ohio Middle School Conference in 1999. During the 2001 school year, he was selected as the Assistant Principal at Wantz. After one year in this role, he moved to be the Principal of the Sixth Grade Building; Neff Elementary, for the following 8 years. As the leader of this building, the staff worked to earn 7 consecutive years in being rated an “Excellent” school by the Ohio Department of Education. For the 2009-10 school year, he was appointed to be the principal at Kinder Elementary School, being asked in February of 2010 to be the principal of Jane Chance Elementary as the District was opening this new school in 2010. While at Jane Chance, he merged students from various populations across the District as well as Miamisburg Staff. School routines, traditions and student-centered beliefs were quickly established and Geyer has remained the principal since. Prior to Covid, Jane Chance Elementary earned state distinction for two consecutive years in ODE’s learning “gap closing” report.
Outside of school, he serves his community on the board of the Camden FISH Food Pantry and is a board member on the Veterans Tech Force Solutions JV. Mr. Geyer looks forward to spending time with his family and being outdoors. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve many Miamisburg students, families and colleagues who have touched his life.
