STADIUM CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Construction on the new high school stadium continues to make great progress. The turf is 100% complete, home and visitor concession stand/bathrooms are on schedule, and the scoreboard installation is scheduled to be completed by August 5th. Other planned site improvements continue.
As with most construction projects, there are unexpected delays. While construction continues towards completion, the installation of the home and visitor stands has been delayed for reasons beyond our control. Additionally, the blue seats (stadium backs and bottoms) will be refurbished upon installation later this month. As a result of this delay, the Vikings will host CJ on September 2nd at Harmon Field. The district is optimistic that we will be celebrating the stadium grand opening when Miamisburg plays Wayne on September 16th. Reserved seating information will be provided in approximately two weeks as a result of the change of game location.
“Given the uncertainty of the hard deadline, it’s in the best interest of the teams and coaches to delay opening day at Holland Field,” said Athletic Director, Jason Osborne. “In no way does this deter from the excitement and anticipation of the field dedication”, said Coach Steve Channell. Adding, “This is a project our entire community can be proud of and we look forward to taking the field for the first time”.
