A Red-Eared Slider turtle surprised Bauer Primary School with a very special visit today — she laid 8 eggs right on our front lawn! 🐢🥚
It was incredible to watch her carefully dig a nest and lay the eggs underground. The eggs will take about 60–90 days to hatch, so we’re hoping to see baby turtles emerge sometime in July or August!
To help keep the nest safe, Cox Arboretum is providing a protective nest cover to prevent raccoons and other wildlife from disturbing the eggs. See the flyer for more information about these awesome animals.
