The Miamisburg City School District September Student of the Month is Jacob Hatton (pictured with MHS Principal Craig Morris). Jacob is a senior at Miamisburg High School and was nominated by his teacher Daniella DiMasso-Shininger. Jacob was nominated because he best exemplified the MHS "Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports" (PBIS) expectation "Upholds Expectations". Mrs. DiMasso-Shininger explained "Every day, Jacob comes in and sets a wonderful example for my creative writing class. He begins working immediately and stays on task throughout the period, and he consistently turns in high quality pieces. He is the first to volunteer an answer or read his pieces aloud during our oral presentation sharing days, so that no one else is forced to go first. As part of peer revisions, Jacob gives thoughtful and constructive criticism to his classmates, and thus they can also succeed on their stories and poems. Jacob is very respectful, consistently greeting everyone politely when he arrives in the room and wishing everyone well when he leaves. His academics, attitudes, and actions exemplify B.U.R.G. Behavior."
