The Miamisburg City School District January Student of the Month is Preslie Riley. Preslie is a first grade student at Kinder Elementary School and was nominated by her first grade teachers. Mrs. Barker said "The First Grade Teachers at Kinder Elementary would like to nominate Preslie Riley as the January Student of the Month. School Engagement is defined as being actively engaged in learning. This describes Preslie as she encounters academic and social issues each day. Preslie is worthy of receiving this month’s award for the character trait School Engagement. Preslie arrives at school each day with a positive attitude. She comes with a smile and is always eager and ready to seek new challenges in her learning and see what each day brings. She is an academic leader in our classroom and often helps her peers find their own academic success. Preslie is always patient and kind when helping others who may not understand a skill or strategy as easily as she does. She never gives up on her friends! Preslie sets realistic academic goals and is motivated to reach these goals. If something is difficult for her, she knows how to ask for help and is motivated to work and improve in that area. Preslie is extremely courteous and has such respectful manners. Her positive approach to life and learning is contagious. Preslie is a role model for the other students in the first grade at Kinder Elementary School. She just brightens our day! This is why we are proud to select Preslie Riley as Kinder Elementary’s January Student of the Month! We see big things in her future."
