Today, JCE students were honored to hear Mrs. Bobbye Sweny speak with students about "Acting with Kindness" as part of their quarterly Pawsitive Actions Will Succeed morning assembly! Mrs. Sweny (94 years old) was featured in an article last month in the Dayton Daily News for her accomplishments as a volunteer for the Miamisburg Historical Society. Mrs. Sweny has worked with the Miamisburg Historical Society as an active volunteer since 1968. She has been a resident of Miamisburg for 70 years and assisted the society in planning the Sesquicentennial celebration as well as currently working/planning for the city's Bicentennial celebration. She is also very active in her church, Our Lady of Good Hope.
Mrs. Sweny informed students on how they should "Act with Kindness" each and every day and paralleled our school's message on following The Golden Rule. All JCE students were thrilled to have such a speaker come to school who has been a volunteer for our community for such a long period of time. Thank you, Mrs. Sweny, for visiting JCE students today!
