Beginning in the spring of 2012 the district has planned a revitalization of the Mound Elementary playground/parking areas. This construction renovation process will include improvements such as:
1. a new lawn-grass area for kickball/play space
2. installation of new K-2 and Grades 3-5 playground apparatus
3. installation of soft surface under new playground apparatuses and
new basketball goals
4. new pavement installation in various portions of the playground
5. new pavement in the staff and visitor parking lot area with new
lighting
6. new entry aprons from the Range Avenue and Evans Avenue street
locations
7. new parent drop off and pick up area in the rear of the building with
canopy to accommodate student entry and waiting
8. new ADA compliant entry ramp to east building door from parking lot
9. relocation and new lighting in the front of the building
This project is anticipated to begin at the end of March 2012 and be completed previous to the start of school in August 2012.

Notice to parents:
As a school that receives Title I funding, federal law requires us to remind you that you may request information regarding the professional qualifications of your child's classroom teachers including whether the teacher has met state qualification and licensing criteria for the grade level and subject areas taught, whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or temporary status in which State qualifications or licensing criteria are waived, the teacher's baccalaureate degree major, graduate certification, and field of discipline; and whether the student is provided services by paraprofessionals, and if so, their qualifications.
