Dear Parent/Guardian,

Our district is in the final phase of our elementary construction and redistricting plan. The first phase of our redistricting plan took place in August of 2010 when the new Jane Chance Elementary School was opened and we temporarily closed Kinder Elementary School for extensive renovations. This August we will re-open Kinder Elementary School and put into action our final phase of redistricting our seven (7) elementary schools. The link (to the right) outlines the final attendance boundary lines for all of our elementary schools.

A committee comprised of six parents, two teachers, three administrators and the District’s

Transportation Supervisor worked through established goals that would result in each building having approximately 400 students. The original Bond Improvement Project was designed to allow for growth in each elementary building, eliminate the use of modulars for classrooms and provide educational services for grades K-5 in seven elementary buildings. The new boundaries are designed to meet those goals and meet the need for an efficient transportation

plan.

APRIL STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Asante Hill -
Miamisburg High School

Asante Hill has always placed a high value on helping other people. He spends a great deal of time and effort into building caring relationships with students, staff members, and the community. This school year he personally invited one student to his lunch table because he had noticed that she had not associated herself with anyone during lunch all year. The girl took him up on the offer and it was the first time that I had seen her smile. On April 25, this caring attitude was also exhibited in an exceptional way. Asante worked with two of our teachers to plan a pep rally for our students with multiple handicaps or also known as our MH students. Asante planned the event and hosted the activities during the pep rally. Asante worked with the administrators to invite about 100 students from the student body. We all cheered for the MH students as they participated in the activities. It was one of the best events I have ever witnessed. The MH students were smiling and having a great time because of the caring attitude of Asante Hill and the teachers that helped planned the event.
