Mission Statement
The Mission of the Miamisburg School District is to unite the
school community in nurturing success through:
- a sense of belonging
- a meaningful and applicable, quality education
- a commitment to lifelong learning
- an attitude of respect and tolerance toward diversity

Strategic Initiative #1: Increase student learning through high-quality instruction.
1.1 Implement a comprehensive professional development program that is focused on instructional best practices.
1.2 Implement instructional strategies that meet the wide-range of student needs, interests, and ability levels. (Gifted, LEP, Sp. Ed.)
1.3 Review course offerings and schedules at all levels to ensure academic rigor and the appropriate utilization of technology.
1.4 Examine educational programs that expand students’ understanding of different cultures, international issues, and the global economy for success in post-secondary educational opportunities and the global marketplace.
1.5 Increase awareness of the value-added component of the state accountability system.
1.6 Implement a student information system that provides demographic and assessment data for use in individual educational program decision making.
1.7 Implement changes at the district and building level that increase instructional time-on- task.
1.8 Establish ongoing intervention plans for students at-risk of failing achievement tests.
1.9 Design a district-wide assessment program that provides the necessary data to evaluate student progress and program effectiveness.
1.10 Implement alternative educational options for students (on-line/distance learning).

2.1 Implement cost saving measures and fiscal procedures to ensure the district’s financial stability.
2.2 Implement a Strategic Facilities Master Plan to eliminate overcrowding.
2.3 Improve the general maintenance of school and athletic facilities.
2.4 Develop school and district departmental continuous improvement plans that link to the district’s strategic plan.
2.5 Establish a set of guiding principles that facilitate collaborative leadership.
2.6 Utilize technology infrastructure to streamline administrative operations.
2.7 Revise district and building safety and security plans.
2.8 Modify employee evaluation procedures to improve district operations.

Strategic Initiative #3: Create vibrant school-community partnerships.
3.1 Expand collaborative ventures with local governmental entities and community organizations that benefit the school district and enhance the quality of life of the Miamisburg community.
3.2 Implement outreach activities that engage nonpublic school groups – senior citizens, empty nesters, and private school families.
3.3 Improve overall communications efforts.
3.4 Create Superintendent/Community Advisory Committees.
3.5 Promote/support the goals/efforts of the Miamisburg Schools Education Foundation.

4.1 Design a public relations plan for the district.

4.5 Increase marketing strategies to recruit and retain quality personnel.
4.6 Establish centralized communication procedures.
