FROM THE DESK OF THE SUPERINTENDENT
On behalf of the 5700 students of the Miamisburg school system, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to the Miamisburg Community for the recent passage of our bond issue. Funds from this levy will permit the district to move forward in addressing our space issues and our aging facilities as identified in our Strategic Facilities Master Plan. The new construction and renovations will also insure a safer environment for our students and staff. The support of the Miamisburg Community is what enables the Miamisburg City School District to provide students with a quality educational experience.
I would like to also take this opportunity to congratulate Barb Goralski, third grade teacher at Mound Elementary, and Amy Rives, H.S. Spanish teacher, for recently earning their National Board Teacher Certification. Barb and Amy join a select group of teachers from our district and across the state who have earned this honored distinction.
In mid March, our H.S. Sophomores were administered the Ohio Graduation Tests (OGTs). I would like to thank the teachers, administrators, support personnel and parents for all of their efforts in helping prepare our students for these tests. The elementary and middle schools staff have also worked diligently to prepare our students for the OATs. Meaningful instruction throughout the school year is the best preparation for the Ohio Achievement Tests that will be given to students in grades 3-8. The concentrated effort being put forth by our elementary and middle school staff members will pay dividends for students.
Sincerely,
Dr. Dallas Jackson
