Challenging and interesting educational programs are offered to Miamisburg students from kindergarten through high school. The curriculum is designed to promote academic strength at all levels, while at the same time meeting individual needs of our students. A program for students who are academically gifted is offered during grades three to eight. Advanced Placement courses, honors and accelerated classes, as well as extracurricular activities that address the visual and performing arts are available at Miamisburg High School.
Computers are widely used in the classrooms, with formal keyboarding classes first offered in grades four and five. Most classrooms throughout the district are equipped with five computers. Libraries at the middle and high school levels are networked and students use CD ROMS to search magazines, newspapers and encyclopedia indexes. Advanced computer classes offered at the high school include Tech Prep programs in Digital Design and Information Technologies.
Teachers and administrators have worked hard to move the district ahead in meeting state standards for student performance. They review, revise and create innovative courses of study on an ongoing basis to meet the challenging new state curriculum standards in the core subjects.
