Three Vikings Sign Letters-of-Intent

Three MHS Vikings signed letters-of-intent to continue their academic and athletic pursuits
on the college level. Pictured below, from left: Jessica Gross signed to continue her soccer
career at Ohio Dominican, Zach Myers signed to play football at the University of Kentucky and
Macey Riese signed to compete in soccer at Youngstown State. All three earned All-GWOC
and all-area honors. They join Anna Weisman, who signed to swim at the
University of Toledo.

DECEMBER STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Mikayla Hammond -
Miamisburg Middle School

Miamisburg City School's December 40 Asset Student of the Month is Miamisburg Middle School eighth grader Mikayla Hammond. Music teacher Heidi Hartley explained why Mikayla was nominated. "As a special area teacher, I have the privilege of seeing Mikayla one hour a day. Mikayla is a hard working, dedicated, and helpful young lady. I know that she does well in other classes at school, she is an active member of her youth organization at church, and she is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Mikayla holds high standards for herself and expects the same of others. In my class, when her fellow classmates have been disrespectful and disruptive, Mikayla has not been afraid to speak up. She has, on several occasions, tried to use her influence to make a difference in class. Mikayla is very concerned about her work meeting the standards of her teachers. Through her work and her actions, Mikayla shows great integrity (Asset #28) and she has been a pleasure to work with in class."
