Re: Race to the Top Plan
Most recently Miamisburg City Schools received approval for our Race to the Top application and funds. There are three major components to the plan:
1) Standards and Assessments
2) Using Data to Improve Instruction
3) Great Teachers and Leaders
The overall goal is to raise student achievement. More detail to the components will be posted on the website.
Our RttT team has met many times, both as a large group and in subgroups, to develop the application, formulate a budget, and prioritize activities.
Much of the funding will be spent on professional development and coordinated with MIIC.

Our initial activities will include surveying staff to establish baseline information and staff development needs. The survey will be sent to staff by early
next week. A roster of professional development activities will be established and will focus on the Common Core Standards as well as technology.
To help with the coordination of the RttT activities we will be hiring three coordinators, one for each area. A job posting and description will be posted
in the near future. Coordinator positions will be paid by a stipend funded through RttT.
