Cheerleaders National Champions

Miamisburg High’s competition cheerleading team is national champions again.  The Vikings won the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships at the Disney World Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

The team, coached by Tina Turner, is composed of seniors Paige Calhoun, Jessica Grib, Taylor Hamilton, Jena King, Abby Schutt, Darcy Williams, Christina Xidas and Victoria Xidas; juniors Haley Baker, Lauren Few, Morgan Fields, Alyssa Fritsch, Molly Regan and Raven Tentman; sophomores Miranda Berry, Brooke Howard, Sydney Huffman, Kaille Phong, McKenzie Ryan, Shelby Storer and Maria Taylor; and freshmen Danielle Case, Taylor Chambers, Brittany Jensen, Ashley Johnson, Celia Monroe, Selena Parker and Samantha Price.

The cheer squad has now claimed two legs of the championship triple crown.  MHS won the GWOC Championships earlier this year.  Remaining are the Ohio Championships on Feb. 25. 

The championship was the Vikings’ fifth national title.  They last won nationals in 2006.
